About Sara

A Scottish-Egyptian visual artist and contemporary thinker, based in Scotland. Her interests include linguistics, contemporary art, politics and education. Her practice is primarily informed by semiotics. She has recently explored identity, language and religion, through text, conversation and photography during her stay in Egypt. She studies combinations of colour and pattern through material investigations. She considers placement in space when using drawing as sculptural instructions. Influence taken from found situations and interventions can be reflected in an ephemeral 'rehearsal' of installation, a required procedure of displacing and replacing props and fabricated sculptural components. Her methods of research are compiled in both a visual archive of photographic documentation, and a studio archive of physical material documentation.
